Climbers enjoy roast pork and test products–SKYLOTEC 2010 Team Meeting
This summer, the moment finally arrived: Our SKYLOTEC Athletes’ Team gathered for the first official
team meeting in its history. At the start, it was already clear that the following days would hold a lot of
sport, fun, and new discoveries for every participant.

After arriving in Frankenjura (Germany), the next day it was off to Püttlachtal, one of the hot spots in Franconia.
Right on site, the group was free to get to know and test out the prototypes of the new products. On famous
routes like “Ambos”, “Herkules” (Hercules), and “Roter Baron” (Red Baron), the new products were put to
the acid test and talked about in a lively discussion.

That a day like that can be pretty exhausting was clear at dinner together: Instead of paying attention to one’s
waistline, as is actually usual among athletes, a round of Schäufele (roast shoulder of pork, a Franconian delicacy)
for everyone was eaten! With a full stomach, it was all the easier to philosophize about athletic experiences,
favourite routes, and the experiences with the tested products.

And because it was so wonderful, the next day led to the Krottenseer Turm (Tower), where more testing
diligently took place. Ropes, quickdraws, harnesses, and runners had to prove their mettle on routes like
“Ira Technokratie” and “Boiling Point”. Owing to the best adventure and test factor, the rather temperate
weather played only a secondary role, and everyone satisfactorily concluded an exciting day on the crag.

Thus, these two days in Franconia were more than worth the while: Our athletes had the opportunity to
exchange ideas and gain new ones. And exactly this exchange is what enables SKYLOTEC to develop
for tomorrow, in conjunction with our athletes, products that are oriented to the requirements of athletes
on the rocks.
